Anne and Dear Santa?

Santa, can you hear me?
I have been so good this year.

This is prolly the year wherein I didn't give much thought to a Christmas Wish List. For the past years, I usually jot down things which I wanted to receive during Christmas day. A combination of material and non-material things. It's not a "one-seating" wish list, I tell you. Days or even a week or two? I'd say, it's like "potential gift pops in mind-write it down" sort of thing. But this year was different. I didn't even took an effort to spend time in writing one.

Is that maturity kicking in? Well, not necessarily? Though hey, I'm pretty much proud for whatever I've done, I've said, I've been this 2009. Maturity speaking, I'd say, job well done to the nineteen year old me. But anyway, I guess not taking an effort to write a wish list is not purely a product of maturity. When someone asked about what I wanted to receive for Christmas, I was pretty much left hanging. Sure, receiving a MacBook or a Blackberry sounds "wow" but the "wow" factor it brings is not enough to keep me want it in a way that I'd kill a deer for it.

I know 2009 is a sucker. We're all witnesses of how this year slapped our faces with all the troubles and pain in the ass incidents but let's not forget that there were good times as well. Personally speaking, I've been blessed and I guess, that's a reason why I'm no longer asking for more. What I've received, whether materially speaking or not, for the past eleven months of this year is enough. I'm not greedy, y'know. Besides, there are a lot of people who deserves to be heard by Santa. Let the nice ones be heard. It's time for them to at least experience how smooth sailing life can be. As for the naughty ones? There's always a room for change? ;)

It's 12.22AM in my clock. Another day just started but I hope I'm not too late in greeting everyone a Merry Christmas. Hope everyone had a great time. It's that time of the year where "diet" should be put aside first, Haha! :)

Happy Birthday, J! :)

Anne and October

Been on a break for two or three weeks already but still, been very lazy to write an entry. I don't know. I just don't feel like writing a new one during the break. Perhaps, I want to enjoy the stress-free days? Lmao, there goes my excuse this time.

Like the previous ones, this entry might probably end up like a "catching-up" entry but probably will cover the things that happened during October, my favorite month, and maybe during the first days of November? or is that a crime for the Blog Title? Boo! (Labo!)

FIRST SEM. OVER.
That was fast. Am I the only one who thinks time flies too fast? Five months ago, I was an irregular (for the NTH time, I'm an irregular because I'm a shifter) student who said hello to a new semester, new subjects, new professors, and new faces. A month ago, I said goodbye to all of them. Two days from now, I'll be again saying hello to a new semester, new subjects, new professors, and new faces. The only difference? I'm already a regular student. Can't believe I waited for a year and a half for this to happen!

FIRST SEM GRADES. GOOD, GOOD.
I did well, darrrling. I freaked out--in a good way--when I saw my grades online. First time? Yeah, sort of. I think my grades last semester were the best ones I had in college. I guess all the days I've spent in the library paid off. Let's see if I can manage to do well for the second semester.

TURNING 19. 10/26/90.
For the past two years, I've spent my birthdays overseas with my parents. During my 17th, I was a on a plane bounded for Malaysia and Singapore. A lot of airport people greeted me! During my 18th, I was in Cambodia. If I remembered it right, I was at Angkor Wat temple, that famous Tomb Raider location, and the Bakheng Hill. All in one day. My legs were throwing complaints at me that time. So this year was different. Had a pre-birthday dinner with friends and then during my actual birthday, went to church, gym (though I didn't actually worked out since I had this urge of not tiring myself), and spent the entire day with the family. Received a lot of birthday greetings. There were gifts as well. So there, simple yet fun day.

Oh btw, during my pre-birthday dinner, mom baked a carrot cake. Fondant Icing, baby! Mom asked for help so I was doing the icing the entire morning. Work-out! Lol.

CAMERA CAKE.
Different from the cake by mom. Can I call this a birthday gift from my sister if I actally bugged her to buy me one? Here's my cake:

It features my beloved Alpha (Sony Alpha-100k). ChocoMoist! Thanks to Maam Mary Ann of TopCakes! Loved your work! NomNomNom! :)

Why I do I feel like I missed out on something? Hmm, guess I have to edit this one when a random thought kicks out. :)

Anne and Typhoon Ondoy

It's all over the news. Local or International, you name it. Anyway, we've all had a tough weekend but I do hope that we'll continue praying for each and everyone's sake. Heard there'll be another typhoon (Peping) coming, give two or three days? No idea if it's intensity is the same of Ondoy but let's all be prepared (though I'm pretty sure that some Filipino families are still in the process of moving on from Ondoy by the time Peping comes).

What a weekend. What an experience and I do hope, we all learned something from it. :)

PHOTOS. I do not own any of the photos so credits go to: CALVINSHUB and TIMES NEWS NETWORK.

(Oh btw, sorry for the long-time-no-update!)

Anne and Songs

Digging New Radicals' songs lately. Then some songs from The Cure (always my favorite!) as well. Old school? Well, yeah. I actually find it funny since I think I know more songs from way back than the new songs being played in local radio stations. Even those videos played in MTV (our cable provider no longer gives us MYX)? I think I can name FEW videos? When I say 'FEW', I really mean 'FEW'. So does that mean I'm old? Please, say No.

No idea why I'm not into The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus (correct me if wrong if I misspelled her surname) and all those new acts today. Maybe they're too cute? Maybe they're over-rated? I don't know. Btw, don't you think Miley Cyrus' voice was annoying in the Stand Up for Cancer song? Search it up in YouTube. Tell me what you think. :)

What else? KPop. I'm into KPop these days. I actually started listening to KPop months ago and I'm loving it. The lyrics are driving me crazy so thank god for the English Translations of the songs online! God bless the internet! :)

Anyway, have to study for the exams so leaving you with some videos. Enjoy! :)

New Radicals - You Get What You Give (Live, 1999)

(Wake up kids. We've got the dreamer's disease!)

Michelle Branch - You Get What You Give Cover (Live, 2002)

(Not really bad, Michelle Branch! Cool cover!)

The Cure - In Between Days (Live, 2001)

(Yesterday, I got so old. I felt like I could die.)

The Corrs ft Bono - When the Stars Go Blue (Live, 2005)

(This got to be the best cover of "When the Stars Go Blue".
I think Jason Mraz also did a cover of the song but I just love this more.)

Super Junior - Sorry, Sorry and Why I Like You (Live, 2009)

(My two favorite songs from their latest album. Donghae!)

Anne, School, Time, and Two Weeks

Shoo your worries away. Still alive. As if I've got millions of readers no? Lol. Anyway, have no idea why I wasn't able to update for such a long time. I'm a bit surprised that my last entry was dated June 15. Sorry Blogger. I think I owe you an apology. Oh well, at least I made it on time! Right before July ends! Let's keep rolling...

1. School. School is definitely one reason why I haven't updated for more than a month. I've been really busy trying to get my old "nerdy" self back. Staying away from laziness and procrastination is my sort of motto for this semester. I really want to improve my school performance. Well, not that it's bad nor in a critical state. I'm just not satisfied with how I work. My grades are good but I guess, improving for self-satisfaction is not a bad idea. So let's see if my library-afternoon-formula will work.

Anyway, still got an irregular load for this semester (since I advanced subjects last year) which means few subjects and long breaks. If I manage to pass everything (fingers crossed) for this semester then I'm back as a regular student for next sem. Advanced pa. How sweet does that sound. :)

2. Time. Time is running way too fast that I can no longer keep up. When I stop thinking, when I stop working, I'm already one step behind. Lots of things to do. Each day gets crazier. Each week gets crappier. Will I get by?

3. Next Two Weeks. Next two weeks will be hell. I'm not really sure but I can definitely see it coming. Quizzes, exams, requirements, memorization, prelims, everything. Sleepless nights are here once again. Caffeine intake will help me get by if and only if caffeine's effects are still effective on me.

Anne and a Long Entry

Sort of felt the urge to write an entry since I might not have enough time to write one soon. Well, classes finally starts tomorrow and I'll try to focus myself first on school. Anyway, I'm pretty much bored too. Should have went to the gym today but I preferred to stay home. Last day at home. Sweet. Anyway, as I said, long entry so let's keep it rolling.

1. Nintendo DSi.
Mom gave me a PSP months ago which I rarely used. Got tired of it after two or three months. I guess, I wasn't born to be a PSP baby. Lol. Anyway, since I don't use my PSP that much, I told my mom my plans of selling it. She never objected so it's safe to say that the green light is on. My original plan was to use the money to buy a Nintendo DS but I never had a chance to sell it because someone is being a generous soul! Who? Who? MOM! She bought a Nintendo DSi! Blue one! She never said anything about buying it for "ME" but I'm selfish. I claimed the Nintendo DSi as MY property right after I played some games. *evil laugh* (Don't worry Mom! I still have plans of selling the PSP and I swear, I'm going to give all the money to you. Uhm, is it too much to ask if I'm going to ask for my share? Kidding!)

I love my DSi! It's been keeping me away from boredom. Oh well, I always knew that I was born to be a Nintendo baby. LOL. But seriously, do you remember the old-school gameboy? The gray one? Wait, here's a photo:
Remember that one? It's my first Nintendo product ever. It's no longer working but Ikept it in one of my drawers. Dot-matrix! Talk about old-school! Lol.

2. DSi Game: Grey's Anatomy.
It's not the "best" DS game since it can be very boring (and by boring, I mean you'll fins yourself sleepy after playing for a while) at times but it's worth a try. The cartoon versions of Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo, Katherine Heigl, and the rest of the gang got flaws but I don't think it'll bother you in any way. The challenges were pretty disappointing but anyway, what got me into the game is the story. I think I might start watching Grey's Anatomy!

3. DSi Game: Trauma Center (Under the Knife)
Another game which made me and my sister crazy! So we're frustrated doctors then? Lol.

4. James Morrison.
I'm not so sure whether you heard some songs of this guy but if you haven't then might as well, give it a try. His songs were lovely. The lyrics? Brilliant. I seriously love the guy! He's now in my "musicians-to-watch-live-before-I-die" list. Lol. But seriously, check out his songs either in Imeem, YouTube or ask for Mr. Google about him. I'm pretty sure Mr. Google can direct you to his website. Trust me, Mr. Google won't fail you. (It's been a week now and I still can't get over with "Broken Strings" and "You Make it Real". Is that crazy?)

5. Samantha Who?

Dear ABC,

Why do you have to cancel Samantha Who? Of all your shows? Why Samantha Who? Why, why? Enough of the reason that you had to cancel Samantha Who to make way for your new TV shows this coming September. Of course, I (and I think all the other viewers will back me up on this) won't take that as a good reason. Anyway, I hope you all heard about the online petition. It worked well, don't you think? I still have hopes about it so please consider the idea of giving another shot for Sam and her retrograde amnesia. Season 3!

Love, Anne.

6. TV Shows
Talking about TV shows, can you suggest any show which is something light? Funny? I'm not really into drama (not only in TV shows but also in people who creates drama!) right now. I'm a super babaw person. I cry and laugh easily but this time, I'd like to cry not because of those sappy scenes but because it's super funny. So any suggestions?

7. Kim Bum and Kim So Eun
That BBF could've worked for me if and only if Koo Hye Sun didn't play the part of the lead actress. Come on, she looks old to play the role of a High School student. I'd still give my vote to Yoon Eun Hye. I think she could've played the part well. Anyway, BBF worked for me just because of Kim Bum and Kim So Eun! Really cute together! In fact, I'm hoping for both of them to have a KDrama or KMovie of their own. Fan much? Lol.

Anne and the LBC Guy

Went to LBC a while ago to send the CDs, containing the entire season five of Desperate Housewives and some episodes from season 4, which I burned for Anna. I should have sent her the CDs last week but I had a problem with one of the episodes (btw, it's still a problem. can't seem to figure it out). Long delay, I know.

So there.
I went to LBC (Malolos Branch) with all the CDs in plastic sleeves. Yes, I decided to go for CD plastic sleeves and not CD cases because: first, it's cheaper and I've got LOTs of those in my drawer and second, I've been buying DVDs and CDs online for more than a year (eBay) and all the DVDs and CDs which I ordered came in plastic sleeves lang din. So knowing that there's nothing wrong with that kind of packaging, I settled for that one. But Mr. LBC Guy-slash-All Knowing had a problem with it...

Mr. LBC Guy: Miss, saan papunta ang CDs?
Me: ParaƱaque.
(Mr. LBC Guy handed the form)
(I filled up the form and handed it over to Mr. LBC Guy)
Mr. LBC Guy: Anong laman ng CDs?
Me: TV Series.
Mr. LBC Guy: Ano nga ang laman?
Me: TV Series nga.
Mr. LBC Guy: Personal na video ba?
Me: Hindi. Downloaded. TV Series nga dbah? Desperate Housewives.
Mr. LBC Guy: Hindi ba porno? Katrina Halili?
Me: Hindi. DUH. (Yes, I said that.)
(Mr. LBC Guy looked for LBC plastic na swak dun sa size ng CD)
Mr. LBC Guy: Miss, wala ka bang box? Kasi baka ma-bali.
Me: Huh?
Mr. LBC Guy: Kasi, baka mabasag yung CDs mo.
Me: O edi, ilagay niyo sa box, dbah?
(Mr. LBC Guy looked for a box)
Mr. LBC Guy: Ay Miss, wala na pala kaming box na ganon.
Me: O, ano namang gagawin ko ngayon?
(Pissed. I swear, the guy is getting into my nerves)
Mr. LBC Guy: Ah Miss, ganito. Lumabas ka tapos may makikita kang tindahan...
(Didn't even allowed him to finish his sentence)
Me: Huwag na nga. I-cancel mo na lang. Ang dami mong arte. (Shouting!)
(Sabay walk-out)

Leche.

Dear MR. LBC GUY,

You want a box? Then fine, get a box. I don't mind paying for extra charges since I think, you're just after that lang naman talaga. But again, you find it since you're the one who suggested that bright idea dbah? Huwag mo akong utus-utusan up to the point na palalabasin mo pa ako under the 3PM sun just to get a freaking box? Pwede ba. Oh and btw, let me tell you that I'm not pathetic or lame to burn porn videos in CDs then send it to someone. Common sense, man. Do you think I'm that kind of person who will waste money for that? Think, man. Think.

Let me ask you, mahirap bang intindihin ang salitang: TV SERIES. DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES? Tell me, anong mahirap don?

PS: Clean your ears. I think you've got a hearing problem.

Anne and All Those Places (Part 1)

Wow, looks like I'm updating once a month. Oh well, at least, I'm updating. :)

ANYWAY. So, I've been away for three weeks (I think?) and yeah, I've been traveling again. Been to a lot of places actually. I've been to amusement parks, a temple, casinos (but don't get me wrong on that), hotels, farm, beaches, comedy bar, blah blah blah. So many places.

HONG KONG and MACAU
April 4, 2009 (Saturday)
  • Had a 7AM flight to Hong Kong with the entire family.
  • Arrived in Hong Kong around 10 or 11?
  • Checked-in at Park Hotel.
  • Off to Ocean Park.

April 5, 2009 (Sunday)
  • Breakfast in McDonalds. Wow, beat that (sarcasm people!).
  • Disneyland Day! We literally dropped by HK just to see Disneyland. Well, it's actually for Andrei since he was just months old(?) when we first went there. So ayan, since he's already four years old and a big fan of Buzz Lightyear, we went there again.
  • So there, I felt like a seven year old kid again. Hello, I am but a BIG fan of Disney flicks. You name it: Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Tarzan, Toy Story, MULAN, etc! You name all those Disney characters too! All those Disney-related-stuff bring out the kiddo in me. Happy, happy place.

April 6, 2009 (Monday)
  • Last day in Hong Kong!
  • Walked around the streets during the morning.
  • Ferry ride to Macau around 1PM. It's one and a half ride, I think?
  • Upon arriving in Macau, we were welcomed by a LOT of Filipinos! Entire population in Macau is 500,000 (according to Winora, our tour guide for the day) and I bet, 30 or 40% of Macau's population goes to the Filipinos. So don't be scared if you're lost in Macau! :))
  • Went to Venetian Macao Resort-Hotel. Loooove the interior! Had dinner there and then, had a gondola ride there too.
  • After Venetian, we walked around Wynn Hotel.

April 7, 2009 (Tuesday)

  • Kun Lam Temple or A-ma Temple, Ruins of St. Paul Church, Macau Tower (which killed me! dizzy, dizzy!)...then there's a Casino tour, outlet shopping, blah blah blah. Senado Square during the night!

April 8, 2009 (Wednesday)
  • One thing I hate the most when traveling is the "last" day-slash-the day when you go back home. I know it sounds weird but yeah, I hate it. It's saaad. :( Oh anyway, cheers for the next travel adventure! :D

PART TWO...SOON! :D

Anne and the Anvaya Carnaval (1st Anniv)

Location: Anvaya Cove, Morong, Bataan

Anvaya Cove turns one year old! Yay! The invitation came last week and I've been really excited about this since then. Come on, it's been a while since we went to Anvaya. I really missed that place. Such a perfect getaway place since it's not that far from our place. It's a two-hour drive from home? or two-and-a-half? Another great thing about the place is that it's not "abused" since it's not really a public resort or whatevs. So, ayos! :)

Anyway, Anvaya's first birthday theme was called "Anvaya Carnaval" so there were jugglers everywhere, magicians, stilts walkers, etc. Escola de Samba de Manila were there too! So there were the samba drummers which went around the pool area and played tunes for the visitors. Then, Escola (the samba dancers?) performed as well. Really, really good! There's Guarana too, the band, which performed Samba and Bossa songs. Btw, they performed Conga, 1,2,3 and some songs of Gloria Estefan which really made me sing my heart out. Come on, that's Gloria Estefan! Well, I kinda know her songs. Lol. (Thanks to Eileen of Escola de Samba de Manila! God bless you and the entire group!) :)

Another great thing about this event: free food, free drinks, free towels, free spa, free everything. How I wish it's always "free" when we visit the place! Lol!

Anvaya will always be lolololove. :)

Some photos from my Anvaya-Cove-Day:
Andrei playing with the sand.
Andrei=so bangad.
Andrei burried them! :))
Guarana (the band).
Samba Drummers.
Escola (Samba Dancers).

That's Eileen! :)

My favorite photo of all.
Ebot tried this stick-y hum
